I was tripping my brains out on the best fucking windowpane in the universe when he played Watching The Detectives on the SNL Christmas eve show. That was the "Anyone Can Host SNL"

His first live appearance on national TV.

The band started playing "Less Than Zero" and he stopped them 10 seconds into it, and said "I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, I just can't play that song here. ONE TWO THREE FOUR--" and they launched into "Radio Radio"...
