I want to smell dark matter
It was okay. First ep maybe could have had a bit more of that other girl so it would have been a surprise when she went mad. But there seemed to be lots of stuff going on that's going to feature in future episodes (the pteredactol, FOR EXAMPLE) I would think and there were some good lines (which I can't remember), Jack getting shot in the fucking head was a good shocking moment and one of the team members essentially DRUG-RAPING people was good.

Episode two was ripped off from that season one Angel episode (and Torchwood being built in the rift is kind of like Sunnydale being built on the Hellmouth...kind of) but it moved along well and everything and the hour and 40 minutes didn't drag SO GOOD.

I wonder if every episode will have a same sex kiss? The first one was funny, the one in the second episode was pointless (NICE to see a bit of Gwen's tits though.)

CHARACTERS

John Barrowman was very good as Jack and in fact seems to have toned down on the goofiness and sexual innuendos from when he was in Doctor Who which makes sense since he's the lead now.

Gwen was likable and cute.

Pervy Owen guy had a few good lines, a few annoying ones.

Asian girl and the other guy (Xanto?) had very little characterisation but I expect that'll come later.

GOOD SHOW (SO FAR).

I thought it was just OK. The characterisation was a little weak and why did they keep on standing on roofs in places? Did they hire a helicopter for a day and thought they better get good value?

They are all obsessed with Date Rape drugs as well - jack did it and the weedy bloke did it too. I was of course shocked.

Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who.
 
Yes, they did hire a helicopter for the day, the idea was to get lots of tracking shots, although I would have hoped they would have used them more sparingly.

The standing on the roof looked quite cool though, I dont envy the stuntman that did that, wire up the leg or not.

There will be a special on Christmas day, series three will start in spring.
 
Torchwood was really quite good, but I'm probably biased just because I'm glad there's a British scifi show. They don't come around often enough.

I liked pretty much everything in first ep except for the moronic standing on rooftops, the pointless speech at the beginning about oestrogen and that little twerp with the alien rohypnol. The second ep was a bit of a let down considering it reverted to type a little with an RTD sex special with extra sex. Still looks very promising.
 
The bouncer wanking to the CCTV was funny.
