It was a subtle premiere compared to last year, but still good.

Hmmm, so it's voodoo lady in the car. Maryann perhaps trying to get back at people who have hurt Tara? Or the funky creature we'll meet in a couple of episodes.

Maryann is a scary chick. Is she a sadistic matchmaker? Or just wants everyone to have sex? Her and Sookie have not met yet, so that should be interesting.

LAFAYETTE IS NOT DEAD WOOT. Was I the only one who cracked up when Eric came downstairs with foil in his hair? He obviously is not naturally highlighted. Hah! So, they have him for selling V, probably, but why haven't they killed him yet?

Oh, poor Jason...like Dawn said: You're as dumb as a box of hair.

Next week looks like it will be more action-packed. And Wacky should be very, VERY happy with this episode. ;)

Tisi I peeked! YAY! for the good news about Lafayette!!! I was sorta right! Maybe we need to start a KEEP LAFAYETTE campaign!
But how far are they going with the Maryann story line I wonder?

Well, there's a scene last night where Sam gives Maryann money, but she says he's not the reason she's here. So...I don't know. Maybe they're putting Sookie's heritage in a bit early? And Maryann knows who/what she is? I'm not sure.
 
Nice setup for the season. I can't get the theme song out of my head, or the sight of ANNA PAQUIN'S YOU KNOW WHATS.

I'm thinking they're going to deviate from the books even more and keep Bill and Sookie together a lot longer or maybe bypass her relationship with Eric altogether. If they don't, they'll at least give Bill a more prominent role than what he has in the books.

I was glad they didn't kill Lafayette, I almost didn't recognize him. You can't hide his voice though!

Actually, in the TV Guide with Sookie & Bill on the cover, there's a three page story on the show, and it says Eric will make a play for Sookie this season.
 
I think he has to eventually.

Lena shows up in the clips a couple of times for future episodes, so they Alan Ball might stick with that, which causes the rift. Eric is too much a part of Sookie's life in the books for it to be ignored.
 
I was in Best Buy yesterday, and they had the Season 1 blu-ray boxed set...for $65!! Time to d/l the entire season.
 
Anna Paquin has nice breasts.

Didn't really care about the rest of the episode. Sam and LaFayette are the only decent characters. Checked out the IMDB board and every thread was "OMGZ ERIC IS SO HOT AND IT'S PERFECTLY OKAY FOR VAMPIRES TO BE EVIL BUT ALL HUMANZ MUST DIE LULZ DID I MENTION ERIC IS HOT!!!"
 
At one TV board I frequent, they were complaining about Eric's shorter hair and the fact that he had foils going. "Once you are turned, you can't change your appearance other than clothes! So how can he have cut or highlighted his hair!!!?"
 
Hmmm...does a vampire's healing ability exentend to their hair? Most vamp stories agree that if a vamp loses an arm, leg, etc, it will grow back. If a Vamp shaves his head, will the hair grow back? That's one way a vamp could change their appearance.
 
When Kirsten Dunst attempted to cut her hair in Interview With a Vampire, it grew back instantly. I'm assuming the same thing happened in the books...
 
Never saw that movie, it looked like crap.

Anna is looking fine these days, I might have to d/l True Blood just to see her boobies!
 
I don't think the vampires in True Blood have all the same rules of existence as other vampire universes.
 
So, basically, it's just like Twilight?
