I wonder why they are starting earlier this year, though. Last year it debuted in September. Wonder if we'll have more episodes maybe?

Well, not to me. I never got into Buffy.
 
I think some people's problem with the show is that it's too much like Buffy and not enough like the books.

Personally, I like TB, I like Buffy and I never read the books. So go know.
 
I loved Buffy and I love TB, even having read the books. Some of the storyline departures are nice for me cuz I get some surprises - for instance - still crossing my fingers that they will find some way for Lafayette to stay even if it isn't canon.
And actually, they really havent strayed THAT far from the books, to be truthful.
 
I just like True Blood, I don't care what show it is or isn't like. I only read one of the books, but I don't care if the show follows the books or not. I guess if I was a diehard fan of the books, I'd probably be raising hell.

I'm a die hard fan of the books, but am obsessed with TB. Partly because it's just great campy fun, and doesn't take itself seriously. I was a fan of Buffy until s4, and then I watched it on and off before it ended. I thought Angel's final season was far superior to Buffy's. Buffy sorta turned into a whiny bitch.
