True Detective Season 2

I liked the premiere. It was mostly a little character background, leading up to the murder case that brings the main cast together. Colin Farrell was pretty good as the fucked up and corrupt cop, Rachel McAdams was good too. Taylor Kitsch didn't really have enough to do in the premiere to know what's up with him.

LOTS OF DILDOS!

It was okay. I mean it is a pulpy detective show and the first season was like that too once you took away all the "flat circle" stuff. Some bits were so over the top that they were funny, like when Colin Farrell threatened to rape the boy's father up the ass with his mother's headless corpse or whatever. And when he called his son a "fat pussy." I thought Rachel McAdams was the best but I always think the girl is the best DON'T I. The traffic cop guy seemed dull but maybe he'll get more interesting. Lots of intense faces at the end.

It was ok. I didn't get bored. Colin Farrell's character was really heavy handedly done. And Taylor Kitsch's too. Some people are complaining that the most interesting thing in the whole episode was right at the end, but that's how it's meant to be, right? The coincidence of stopping in front of the dead body was the annoying part.

Oh and the title sequence looks nice, but I can't stand that music.

The music really took me by surprise. Maybe it'll make sense by the end of the season and we'll be all "YES, THAT MUSIC'S GOT ME PUMPED."

I like the scenes with Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams. Vince Vaugn is meh. Taylor Thingy is boring and annoying.

It could do with more humour. More "sucking a robot's dick" type lines anyway.

So how are they going to get out of that ending?

I guess he could survive that. Maybe Colin Farrell will spend the next couple episodes in the hospital.

It's okay, definitely not as good as season 1 though.

OMG the creepy psychologist was played by Rick Springfield. I didn't even recognize him.

I think Taylor Kitsch (I CAN'T REMEMBER HIS CHARACTER'S NAME OKAY) and his mother have sex.

I'd like to see more of Taylor Kitsch's parts.

There a few times this week when I drifted off and only realised at the end of a scene that I hadn't heard a single word. Who was the guy (Stan) who'd been killed? Vince Vaughn recognised him, but I couldn't tell if we were supposed to.

The bit at the end when he cycled through every emotion face made me laugh. A lot of his bits make me laugh.

Vince Vaughn just isn't that good. I really like the woman playing his wife. Why couldn't she be the crime lord instead?

The action stuff was really good, imo. The shootout was super intense.

For some reasons the best scenes on this show happen in a car. It was the same last season. Maybe they should just write an entire season set in a car. A police road trip.

His wife was in the Sherlock Holmes movies (as was Rachel McAdams FUNNILY ENOUGH.)

The shootout was intense, but it was a bit silly how EVERY other cop got shot except our three heroes.
