This is all very true. Especially the part about how Russia views this as it has to win or it does and views the war as not just a new cold war but as a fight for it's continued existence. Republicans who don't understand this and play politics around this are going to kill huge numbers of people not just in Ukraine but in the west when the time comes for Russia's wider war.
