FMD pulled off one of the best trolls in SS history. Thing is, according to some reports he is still on EI.. Rumor has it he just hangs out in Role Play.

CU had it right. FMD convinced the entire board that he had a friend/niece who was being abused [physically]. He carried this on for well over a week, until it was uncovered.

He resigned as a mod and disappeared for a long time. Quite a story, but you really had to be there. Still it was a successful troll, although I don't think any EI'er wants to classify it as that.

And that's exactly where I personally draw the line. Trolling to piss someone off...ok, people have different viewpoints on that. But FMD got a sick pleasure out of convincing others this was really going on. I draw the line at that shit.
 
For clarification, the 'person' in question was his 'Cousin Rina'.

It all started out as one thing, but he kept continuing it despite what Senar and I told him. It's been so long I don't remember many details, but that much I do remember.
 
Damn I remember that whole time now. People were giving him advice, on the board, and in PM's. People really got used. People got hurt, because their sympathies were triggered. And you're right, he milked it for a long time..and for all it was worth. I mean days and days of non-stop reports about this woman and her perils.

Trolling to piss someone off is one thing, even writing stuff to inflame the masses [like Skin {the real one} on Trek], but FMD was just plain ol sick.. But you don't see him permabanned now do you, and Lisa didn't ban him when it happened, and believe me it was one of the worst emotional manipulations I've seen on line.

Oh yeah.. that was it. His cousin.
 
What happened was, that at the time, FMD thought he was trying to help a friend. He created 'Rina' as an example of what could happen to someone. She was coming to stay with someone at the Tulsa Convention a few years back, and this guy had a less than reputable reputation.

He even went as far as to get real life experiences from Senar, who had actually been raped. And he created 'Rina', as a sort of example of 'This is what may happen if you go through with this.'

After a while, Rina was supposed to disappear, and fade into nothingness. But FMD continued on. He felt that so many people were pouring their hearts and support into Rina, that it was a good thing for SSBBS, as people were uniting for a common goal. But Senar and I put a stop to it by confessing that it was all made up. He was messing with people's minds, and that was fucked up.

The aftermath........was not pretty. I can never look at that man the same way again. And my reputation was effected by it afterwards as well, because I kept silent about it.
 
Anakam might have them in her archive. I'd have to ask her, or go look myself.. and I don't have time to do that right now.
 
I'm sorry as well to see TS/CU banished from Eden. He was Curry Spice to the Salt and Pepper. But, we'll always have TK to see what he's up to next . . . well, sort of.

They're not at all similar. If you hadn't already been told to get your head out of your ass a million times I'd tell you again.
