Video games that are "retarded" hard

Mega Man.

Yeah, some of the Mega Man games were hard. Like, they'd be "pretty hard" for the first 20 levels, then all of the sudden the last 2 or 3 levels would like triple in difficulty.

I like games where a boss seems to be reall hard to beat, but you can use patience to exploit a pattern. Syphon Filter is like that. There are several mini-bosses where you can just use cover and slowly pick them off as the patter repeats. It takes a long time, but it's infinitely easier than getting killed fifty billion times in a row just as you were about to take him out.

Ninja Gaiden(NES). I remember one of my brothers had gotten pretty far in the game but wasn't going to be able to get to a save point before we left on vacation so we paused it and left it. Damn system froze up and he had to start all over again.

Majora's Mask is a bitch, because of the time limit and the simple fact that you HAVE to have the book to get through it to find all the masks.

There's also a game from the original NES, Mt. Olympus (Maybe without the Mt.), that I always got to this one part and could go no further. Like the game ended prematurely or something. Not hard so much as weird.
