VKD = I don't care

How about do just a smidge more preventively to keep the place from exploding so that drastic measures like turning off an innocuous thing like karma aren't suddenly called for?

Of the 26 theoretical admins that are on staff here, perhaps there should be 1 more actual one to keep a 'big-picture' eye on things. That is what seems to be missing compared to the olden days. If anyone "established" is involved in this last phase, I hope they realize that it can't be called a rousing success by any measure if it was meant to drum up business...

If it doesn't work, it doesnt work. We seem to have this debate every 6 months or so. There is no one with "power" here. No one can be forced to stay and we learned that right after the relaunch when we all(Me, Decker, Red, Sardy) bent over backwards to listen to everyone and try to make everyone happy by trying to force the board to fit the mold. We were bleeding members then too. And have continued to bleed members. It's just the nature of this place. But there is always a transfusion of duals :D

We tend to have selective memories when it comes to the good old days. There was a lot of spam and ugliness and stupidity back then as well.

Not having HTML disabled in karma isn't exactly innocuous.. :D

I will admit that I'm tolerant to the point of letting things get out of control insane before I decide to do something. With this bunch it isn't always easy to decide when to dig in and take a stand. Too soon and everyone gets irritated and the problem will just get worse.My moto has pretty much been... "lets see how this plays out"... probably not always the best choice, but in the long run better than a rash hasty decision about something.

Well, that is the nature of this board, and it's also the nature of the board that the whole truth about any of its "phases" will never come out.

It is Troll Kingdom, not Fuzzy Wuzzy Land, after all. (That was for Wordin, who is probably bursting blood vessels reading this thread)

I just think there were times when it was on to something bigger than that, without losing its sense of self or purpose. And with a little more vision and guidance, it could have gotten there. But that's a non-troll talking, so I guess eventually it will come down to me either deciding to not post here anymore or be "driven" out by the next wave of lame-o's, and I guess that's how it should be.

Woulda been nice, though...
 
I'm actually pretty accepting of the rights for people to be complete twats. Those same rights allow a lot of other freedoms as well.

Fact is I really don't see a "fix" for the current situation or even if we should debate one at all. And what is the current situation anyway? Too many lamers, peons ect being really fucking boring all over the place to the point where it has become the main focus of TK.

If this was an episode of Star Trek it would be The Dauphin. Its just waay too embarrassing to be around, its the epitome of lame. You're bored, you're tired, you want to watch Measure of a Man, you've had enough and you just wish it could be a litte more high brow and less, well, err.. LAME!

I have had my run ins with the admins before on a few occasions and they know that I think some things could of been done with slightly more finesse and customer care but the current state of TK is just the current state of the internet and immaturity in general and in many ways TK does promote itself to complete gooners.

Back in the romantisized olden days a lot of stupidity went on as well, no doubt. But we were more of a community and thats what TK has lost, its sense of community. I just don't have anything in common with any of these idiots, they are just tired and the game they are playing doesn't appeal to me.

Thats pretty much the sum of it. I will stay for the moment because I want to, but if it reaches a point when I am no longer reaping any enjoyment from hanging out here then I will leave as others have done for the same reason.
 
It's a consumer market, luv. If the crap merchandise has overtaken the shelves, there's not much reason to keep going into the store, is there?

you know, all of you guys are taking this thing way too seriously. I've enjoyed VKD and his DLA and their antics. they provided entertainment and added some new blood to a board, which mainly consisted of gagh spamming and bullying people.

yes, the DLA are bullshitters, and I'm not happy that the karma was abolished, but they've injected a sense of fun into the board, especially as its obvious that VKD has his tongue in his cheek when he makes all his grandiose statements. he's a charcater, and i don't see why having a larger than life character is such a bad thing on troll kingdom.

this dual wars nonsense has aonly been going around for a couple of montha and before then, TK was getting deadly boring.

He's already manipulated Karma with html, and I heard from the server that it was s DOS script that actually corrupted the files as a result, so he really did crash the board for a week. he's an asshole, and i don't see why, since he's a jillian dual (and I have the IP's to prove it) he's been allowed out of daycare.

But eggs is right about the assholiness of who's dual is whose. I like it when he outs idiots like Dan for example.

But Menty and Eggs, and Gagh especially are the major reasons I liked posting here so much, y'know Jenna, that old crowd you seem sort of bent on replacing with idiots who the best they can do is put a dot after my name and screech trolled you whenever someone gets fooled.

Perhaps a little listening is in order, something you seem more than reluctant to do.

BTW, this will be the one and only time I'll ask politely for you to disable the jack. account. People I know insist that you're flirting with libel per se and my employers were already directed to this site by someone.

Not my lawsuit. I have nothing to do with it. VKD or one of his idiots called my work, and they're doing the investigation.

It was out of my hands when Valerie called my boss, if you want to know the truth.

I didn't say it was your lawsuit - you wouldn't have a prayer if you decided to file one. But here you are making threats if you don't get your way, which you grumpily assured me you wouldn't do.
 
Sorry Shatna, you're barking at the wrong dog. You should be barking at the people who are really placing the board in jeopardy.
