Wacky Reviews: Things He's Watched On Netflix

I am enjoying Dark Crystal Age of Resistence on Netflix also. Brings me right back to childhood. I love it.

I don't really remember if I ever watched the original Dark Crystal movie. I vaguely remember possibly seeing it and being scared of it or something. First of all it's just amazingly impressive that it's all real practial puppets and not CGI. It really transfers you to another land. It's quite magical! The voice acting was good which was lucky since I didn't really now what was gong on most of the time. Basically it left me wishing we had stuff as good as this when I was a child instead of whatever crap we got (yes tv shows are better now, deal with it.) I'd definitely recommend it over Carnival Row unless you really don't want to watch a weird kids show with puppets!

I've watched it all now and it's really good. It even gave me a kind of Star Wars feel at times, I think because it's true to its eighties roots (but more impressive looking than the movie.) The only downside is that it's maybe a little too long as I got slightly bored during some of the lore scenes, but really I don't want to criticise the show much or at all because it's an amazing achievement (and okay there is some CGI but it enhances the puppets and looks so good that who cares.)
 
I can't remember if I am done watching Enchantment or not. It came back up on my feed with un-watched episodes.
Darnit.

I am about to finish the last episode of The Dark Crystal Season 1. Fuck, I just read that season 2 could be out as late as LATE 2020!!!!!!!

I can't handle it!!!!!
 
The last episode of Dark Crystal Age of Resistance was brutal. BRUTAL!

There was a most disgusting scene towards the end where a Skesksis was killing a small creature that was it's slave who had just tried to get free. It was awful.
Also-I am watching the making of the Dark Crystal now-I love watching those things-A person who works for the Jim Henson company Halle Stanford looks like a Gelfling.
(She is the President of Television for the Jim Henson CO and Executive Producing for the Dark Crystal)

The Skeksis were pretty gross in general, especially when they were eating.

I imagine the next season will take a long time to make so late 2020 is probably reasonable really.
 
I watched the first episode of season 2 disenchanted, ironically enough I didn't enjoy it as much as the first season.
 
Next season of Bojack will be the last and it's annoyingly divided into two.



(At least there's only three months between them and not like a year like that final season of Arrested Development nobody in the entire world but me watched.)

But the audience is barely laughing, I think they are uncomfortable, I can't figure it out.
Also I am pretty sure I should start a thread about these stand ups. Oh did I mention she is a stand up comic?
 
Is Election worth watching? It's a Ryan Murphy thing (like half of all tv these days) so I imagine it just has a flashy trailer full of good looking people to get you to watch then the show ends up falling off the rails by the end. But I need another slow pace show.

I was trying to remember what show you said and I saw "Politician" on Netflix, but I thought this doesn't look like a show CaptainWacky would watch. Sure enough....it was the wrong show!
I don't know about Election.
