Wacky Reviews: Various Movies 2014

It didn't really occur to me until the end of WWZ that there hadn't been much gore. I was much more preoccupied by the interesting approaches different countries took to the outbreak. If people want zombie deaths they can watch the end of season FX reels for TWD.

White House Down wasn't great, but I'd mistakenly watched the atrocious Olympus Has Fallen a couple of days beforehand, so compared to that Syfy TV movie quality borefest it seemed pretty good. The bit with The Beast carving up the lawn was hilarious.

Riddick... Yep, agreed on all points. Not enough Karl Urban. References to stuff I didn't remember. Katie Sackhoff supposedly choosing to be a lesbian and being threatened with rape. It was still watchable, though.

Watched Riddick tonight, damned long, in theory I liked it, but did he have to stick the poison right in the dogs eye?

Also seen Super 8, which I liked, although some of the kids were annoying, and I kept expecting the fat one to do the truffle shuffle.

Watched the worlds end again, liked it better this time, my wife liked it less, we seem to have swapped opinions.

Saw edge of tommorow, liked that, like groundhog day with more shit getting blown up.

I loved Edge of Tomorrow. The comic it's based on, All You Need Is Kill, is inspired by video games and I think it shows.

Tom Cruise started out as a cowardly dick and slowly became quite tolerable, so that was refreshing.
