I want to smell dark matter
(Yes, I know I'm late.)
It was pretty good. I don't really understand why the internet hated it, beyond it being a Spielberg and Lucas film...okay, I do understand. A lot of the complaints I've read look silly. Like I remember ltos of complaints about "the gophers" so I was looking out for something embarrassing involving gophers...err, they just looked at Indy. That was it. And the most overblown complaint of all was the fridge scene. Okay, it was silly, but it played out well in the context of the movie, I thought. It seems to be one of those things that people of below average intelligence make a big fucking deal about onling in little gangs because they think it'll make them look clever.
I would agree that the monkeys and the vine swinging should have been left out, mainly because the monkeys looked like crap (and how did they know to attack the Russians? Do monkeys hate commies?) The story could have been a bit better and there didn't seem to be as much at stake in the end, it wasn't really clear what the Russians thought the skulls would do other than something vague about mind control. Then all Indy and friends had to do was run away. Cate Blacnett was kind of hot in a russian way. They should have made her a bit eviler though, to make her death more satisfying.
BUT STILL, it was good enough and Ford did a great job and I woulnd't miind seeing him make another one or two.
