I want to smell dark matter
It was good that it was a sequel to the Reeve movies (loosely) rather than another reboot origin story thingy. Pretty good, Routh was good, Bosworth was just meh as fuck and Lois lacked edge, Spacey was excellent. Liked the whole bit with him launching the crystal continent into space. The effects were good but sometimes in the flying scenes the picture was a bit...fuzzy? Or something? I know it was just a lighting choice or whatever. OH YEAH, there was like very little humour which was weird. Maybe Superman should have stopped an old woman being raped then she complains because she was enjoying it or something you know. HAHAHLDF
 
I watched it over the weekend, and it was just ok. The Superman scenes were good, but Parkery Posey was annoying, and Kate Bosworth was HORRIBLY miscast. I mean, she's 24 and she LOOKS 22. Her kid is 5. Was Superman banging her when she was 17??

It was TOO LONG. Lex's plot was pretty lame. I give it a C, and that's just for the Superman scenes.
 
Just watched it today, was as good as I remembered it at pictures, been looking at the second disk, saw Brandon Routh working out to get in shape, he actually looks more muscily in his bare skin than in the suit, I think a lot of the muscles were built into teh suit and kind of averaged him out.

If hes kept up that shape though he wont need a muscle suit for the next one.

I wonder if the superkid has long hair because his hair cant be cut?
 
I saw a bootleg DVD copy that my roommate brought home. I was unimpressed, and I doubt that better picture and sound quality would make a big difference.

Kate Bosworth = all wrong. And Brandon Routh was cast (although they'll never admit it) because he does a dead-on impersonation of Chris Reeves as Clark. But I didn't see him as very Supermanish when he was working the suit.

Giving Lois a kid was kinda dumb, they never had to do something that out-of-canon in decades of comics, movies and TV shows, just to move a story along. I thought the look and FX in the movie were a semi-retro nod to the first movie. That's a waste of an opportunity, it should be all-new without looking back if they're going to bother trying to restart Supes as a franchise. It just worked for Batman. Oh well...

Yep. I watched it for the first time too, a couple of days ago, and felt Kare Bosworth was miscast. Everything else was pretty good, oher than OMG CHILD OF SUPERMAN, which was just unecessary.

I felt Routh worked as both Clark and Superman, and Spacey was easily the best thing in the movie.
