There's been several shrines where I've not had a clue what to do and thought "well I'll try this even though it won't work..." and it's either ended up working or taught me something that leads to the solution. It's good!
The game is moreish as fuck. I struggle these days with really long gaming sessions unless I'm raiding in Final Fantasy XIV but Tears of the Kingdom has recaptured that feeling of not being able to put a game down. The systems are so cool and fluid and just "work" and it's just been a blast to play so far. The sense of exploration is amazing. It's been mentioned a lot in reviews, but it's incredible how they have made a masterpiece like BotW feel like a first draft compared to this, and that's all on still very early impressions.
I absolutely love the Zonai aesthetics, and the sound design is amazing as well.
Anyone else have the shrine completion music stuck in their heads?
I didn't think it was a big enough spoiler to require an actual spoiler since it's just "this guy is here" but I edited it. (he's really useful I thouht you'd want to know!)

Damn. This is the first game to make me feel like that meme of the guy turning his head to look at another girl. I've always been happy with my PlayStation but this is really giving me the "missing out" itch.

For me, playing Breath of the Wild was a real "opening your third eye" moment, something that makes you reimagine your conception of what a video game can even be. And then Tears of the Kingdom is making me feel that way again.

I remember playing Ocarina of Time (and loving it, obviously, I was born in the eighties) and kind of thinking "I wish Hyrule Field was bigger and had more stuff in it." Then Twilight Princess had a much bigger Hyrule Field and a couple of escort missions (and horseback combat was cool) but still felt pretty empty. I remember the soldier characters in it talking about fighting monsters and thinking "woulnd't it be cool if you could fight alongside them?" Tears if what I always wanted, there's just such an insane amount of things you can do. Not just the Korok stuff or the standard fun side quests: you can fight enemies alongside NPCs! You can raid monster camps with them! It's like the Zelda of my dreams.
And I only just realised I can fast travel back to the first sky island lol.
I love when I help the guy with the sign then ride up the road at full speed for two minutes and he's standing there with another sign. He's so devoted to President Hudson he can move faster than a horse.
