He was a good actor.
 
odd you mention him, we just watched BTTF part 1 last night. Still holds up, but marty didn't ask the hard questions when he got back, like, "how come you didn't stop me when you knew i was going to go back in time thirty years" to doc brown.
 
The whole thing really doesn't hold up to scrutiny so it's best just to enjoy it.

The second one in particular has some really obvious gaffs with that almanac, but the films don't take themselves at all seriously, so it's easy to ignore those slip ups.
 
I like how a hundred years earlier, everyones grandads and grandmas look exactly like their kids.
 
I thought that was an excellent (in cheek) tactic, it gave it a cartoon feel, and made it easy to see who was related to who.
And it allowed the actors to have fun with the parts.

I was reading his IMDb page yesterday while BTTF:III was on, he's only 71. I'd like to meet him one day.
 
He does stand-up now. Pretty funny.

Pretty good, though the audience are too loud and obnoxious (but then, they're american!)

ANOTHER THOUGHT: Was the word "butthead" coined by Biff? Probably not.
