What if my dream from the other night were real life events happening on the other side of the world?

When I was little, there was a campfire ghost story about a man whose foot was amputated so they gave it a little burial but then he started having dreams that were actually the reanimated foot, going around kicking people to death. It's a lot scarier when you're 11 and sitting at a campfire and someone actually remembers the details of the story.
