What is wrong with you?

Yep settled down. They got here about 1:30PM had some nice pulled pork, chips, onion dip, potato salad, regular salad, and cheese and crackers. Left here about 4:30PM after the present exchange. I got a nice new shirt and some homemade fudge. Then I took a nap and awoke just about an hour ago. Grabbing some leftovers, staying up for a bit and the going to Church tommorrow morning. Was really hoping to go this afternoon because they had the Winter Solstice bonfire after but oh well...

The new bed is awesome. Still stiff and sore this morning but that is from all the work and heavy lifting yesterday. Time to get ready for meditation then taking the kid shopping. After that, finishing my shopping to replenish my own supplies. Maybe by Wednesday things will start to settle down a bit.

Are you going to Church Wednesday?

Are you going to Church Wednesday?

No. Wednesday is the day after Christmas. I will however be going to Church Monday for Christmas Eve mass.

Yikes, I meant go to church on Tuesday. All the churches around me are having services Christmas morning.

Every Christmas I wish I was a member of a church and would feel comfortable going to the special services. Just can't get myself in the door of one though. Organized Christians still freak me out.

Religion has been a major factor - good, bad, and otherwise - in my whole life. Not always my "religion," but other people's. Sometimes the very fact they claim to have none has impacted my life. While it has not always been pleasant, and not always kind, I'm glad that my experiencing my spiritual nature has not been a phase for me. I like knowing that my hand is not me, but it is mine. Your mileage may vary.

Another fun day. Need to wrap the presents I'm delivering today. Then get myself ready and go by the bank to pick up the cash gifts I'm giving also. Then stop by the cemetery and put roses on my mother and daddy's graves. Then go to my daughter's house and help make dinner and exchange gifts. Then come home and go to sleep in my fabulous new bed.

Will get up and do pretty much the same thing tomorrow, only going to a friend's house instead and only bringing salad and salad fixings and one gift. If possible, I want to see Les Miserable tomorrow. Or Django.

Wednesday will be back at work and taking down the Christmas decorations in my office.

Thursday will seem so quiet so I'm going to relax and enjoy these last few days of this wonderful holiday.

Hope you are in for some good days ahead too.

Oh yeah - rubbed some catnip on the cats' new beds. They were depressed that I'm not letting them back into my bedroom and they know I have new un-catified stuff in there. They are very, very happy now. Catnip does wonderful things for a cat.

Because cats tear up stuff. I'm rearranging my house now in preparation of a complete overhaul - repairs, updating, remodeling. One room with access to the enclosed back patio and kennel will be for them. They'll have access to my den when I'm in it. The rest of the house will be off limits to them. Most of my house is heavy on wood and cats are hell on wood.

Oh, I thought maybe it was because of the cat hair getting all over everything. That was my biggest complaint when I had cats -- that, and spraying, and upchucking hair balls on the carpet (never the tile), and then getting revenge when I'd go out of town for a day or two and they would find some corner to do their business on the carpet when I got home. They are so sensitive.

Used to have problems like that when I did animal rescue and foster. My core critters would go crazy marking stuff. Was hilarious that they'd share their food but call their toys and beds off limits. My big complaint with these last 3 cats is the scratching on everything. They have scratching things everywhere but they want to scratch the door jambs and buffet and upholstery. They like to steal the silverware and hide it. I've got child latches on all the cabinets and drawers and they' ve figured out how to bypass them. And, I would really like to read, work a jigsaw puzzle, or type on my keyboard at home without having to fight those three cuddle monster attention whores off of me.

^Yes, I remember those little "jokes" my cats used to play. I had just finished decorating the real Christmas tree (a 12 footer), and then the cats decided it was something to climb and play with all the sparkly things. Needless to say, the tree fell over and all the decorations and lights had to be rescued and rehung.

Now, I just have two dogs, parrots and one old horse. The "jokes" are kept to a minimum.
