But I think they cast the right guy. Matt Damon's 10 years older than Chris Pine; IMHO he'd be too old for the relative ages of the rest of this Enterprise crew.
 
Ben Stiller will appear as Khan in the next movie.

I read on IMDb (so it probably isn't true) that Abrams turned Damon down for being too old. Definitely the right decision.

I was thinking today during Neighbours that Ringo would make a good younger Kirk if they ever needed one. And it'd be kind of neat since Kirk's dad was in Home & Away.
 
Yeah, but Ringo can't act for shit. Paul Robinson as Khan would be good though.
 
Johnny Depp for Khan was another suggestion I heard.

And if they turn it down, the producers must "go in another direction" and cast Will Ferrell or Seth Rogen.

JD (although an IMMENSELY TALENTED ACTOR)would be hard to believe as Khan - not eugenetically modified (read: muscly) enough.
The guy who was the Kelvin's Captain who was killed before Kirk would have been a good Khan, though....wasn't he the Scorpion King?

It should be some high concept sci-fi thing, like TMP only faster and with character stuff mixed in and shit.

What it should be is The Adventures of Yeoman Colt.
 
Oh yeah, the bit where they debated letting Nero die being played for laughs was a bit against the "spirit of Trek" (though he did kill six billion Vulcans so if anyone deserve a "fuck him!" it was Nero.)
