Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

It's wild, how nasty weather makes you want to just hunker down. No rain or cold, but the wind is just howling out and I have no desire to do anything except curl up and nap.

Same here, it was warm this morning and now it's snowing and the wind's been howling like a banshee since around 7 this morning. Lovely.

"Dirty Dancing" was on again. Finally caught the whole thing. (Well, I had to catch the opening credits and first few minutes after the first time through, but I digress.) The edit the station has is...interesting. Johnny and Baby don't have sex until they absolutely have to for the story. This kind of hurts the story because having it happen after the hotel performance--and at least one other time before the last one--is stronger, IMO. And they really sanitize the botched abortion. We get the cousin getting Johnny and then Daddy coming out of the room.

And I'll say again, for people who hated each other's guts, dag, Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey have amazing onscreen chemistry. And she is so frickken hot in this movie. I think of her more as the sister in "Ferris Bueller..." but she's so scorchingly hot in this movie. ...I'll be in my bunk.

Two more observations: They hint at "I've Had The Time of My Life" with an instrumental version when Baby is checking out the place in the beginning and sees Max Kellerman telling the waiters to give the daughters a good time--even the dogs and that the "Mambo Magic" hotel dance is the same dance as the finale--with different music. And obviously it changes by the end, but at the start it is the same dance--with different music, which makes sense. They're not going to go up there and do something totally new, they're going to do the dance they rehearsed. And it's cool, watching them side-by-side; how stiff and awkward the first dance is, compared to the "No One Puts Baby In a Corner" dance.
