Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

Lindsay Vonn claims that her torn ACL had nothing to do with her screwing up at the very start of her run and destroying her leg. But I gotta say, trying to compensate for a recently blown ACL just might have had a teensy bit to do with going wide and hitting a gate. I tore my ACL in my late 30s. Granted, I'm not and wasn't a world-class athlete, but I'll tell you it affects your ability to ski. And I wasn't trying to ski on a world class level. Even with months of physical therapy and a big brace, you're not at the level you were and can go down in agony if you catch an edge wrong or something. Even after having it repaired and going through months more physical therapy you can still tweak it and be in a lot of pain for days--it doesn't come back to 100% in any of the ways they can repair it.

So when you're 42 and you've retired from skiing, maybe you shouldn't decide to compete in the Olympics. And if you tear your ACL the week before the Olympics, that's God trying to tell you you definitely shouldn't compete in the Olympics. And if you decide to anyway and break your leg to the point that it requires multiple surgeries, that's God saying "should'a listened to me." :bergman:

Regarding today's episode of Charlie's Angels, I noticed that Sabrina Duncan has an old school corded phone handset in her snazzy orange 1976 Ford Pinto, and Bosley has a red desk phone in his office with the same white corded earscoop attached to it. Also, no one in this show can drive worth a shit, even 1970s land yachts didn't spontaneously explode when they crash through a guard rail, etc. Okay, maybe the Pinto would have, that might have been realistic.

A high dollar production this is not.

I have been missing my nightly angel or fantasy island show- in place of more 70's game shows while I am caring for my mom after her surgery.

Tonight we watched the same thing that was on last night-I was like, "mom, we saw this same episode last night?" She didn't recall, but only because she couldn't hear it last night-not because of memory.

Did you see Jack Jones?
And did you see those gals beat the guys and the looks on their faces on the password show?

Also...it is funny how serious some contestants get and stressed out trying to just guess 1 word-and I'm like, "Oh boy-just wait until gameshows get really tricky! Obstacle courses, eating bugs, surviving in the wild, liquid falling all over you"

BUZZR repeats shows twice in a day, but not on successive days. You might have seen the show with the same celebrity players, since they usually did a week of shows back then... I wasn't watching last night, but I'm watching right now: 1960s Password, with Arlene Francis and Larry Blyden. But I'm also listening to music and playing online games so I'm not paying much attention, lol. I have an attention span problem.

BUZZR holds no interest for me, but speaking of the difference between then and now, when Alex Trebek died they did an extended run of classic "Jeopardy!" episodes and it was trippy. I'm old enough to remember when champs got retired undefeated after winning 5 games, but they had one episode where, because the contestant had won the ungodly amount of $5,000 or something, which was above the legal limit he could win, like, half of it was donated to the charity of his choice. I might be tempted to watch if they had old daytime episodes of "Wheel of Fortune," where the winners had to trade their cash in for prizes.

Really, that's what they need--the big classic shows. Price is Right with Bob Barker, Let's Make a Deal with Monty Hall, old Wheel and Jeopardy. Do they do Hollywood Squares? I might be tempted to watch Hollywood Squares. Oh! Family Feud with Richard Dawson. Is it up there? Show me Family Feud with Richard Dawson. Survey says?
