Where's the FRAKKING BSG thread?!!!

Some of the people on the TrekBBS BSG board are the DUMBEST motherfuckers I've ever seen online. I think some of them have never actually watched another tv show but BSG, going by their ridiculous complains.

I just wonder what filled their pitiful empty lives before the new BSG started?

Having their childhood raped by "Lu-cash".

They are complaining about BSG? Is one of them a person who claims to have stopped watching the show after season one, but still jumps in every episode discussion to go on about how awful the show is?

Several of them! And they vote "poor" in the episode polls before the episode has even been on.

OMG I bet I know one of those people from a different board. Such an asshole. Please tell me one of them claims to be a journalist who sits next to his newspaper's TV critic.

I loved this episode. The last two minutes, I had butterflies in my stomach because I just knew...KNEW...that when Apollo flew out, he would see Starbuck...AND I WAS FRAKKING RIGHT!

Best line has to go to Baltar. When Felix is on the stand perjuring himself, and Baltar says "You tried to stab me in the neck, and missed. BUTTERFINGERS!" I laughed my ass off.

Yeah, that butterfingers line made me laugh my head off too, Baltar always has those great comedic lines. :D

Interesting stuff from RDM, I'm surprised he's actually confirmed that they're Cylons, for me that question was going to be one of the biggest to wait for.

Someone on another board posted this pic:

I was half expecting a ship of lights to appear in front of Apollo, but I think this thing is just a coincidence.

I've been thinking about the Ship of Lights too.. but I didn't watch TOS so I don't know anything about it. Battlestarwiki is down, or it was earlier, anyway I'm gonna do some reading up on it eventually if I get bored again. I know RM doesn't want his BSG to be exactly like TOS but he could reimagine the Ship of Lights and the Seraphs.. make them not aliens.. or whatever they were.

The final 5 Cylons could be this show's version of the Seraphs.

He's been saying for awhile that the Ship of Lights storyline might be something he'd want to revisit, so I'm guessing that's exactly where this is going. Twisted around so it'll fit in with the new show's mythology, of course.

Many have been speculating about that pullback shot and the star being the Ship of Lights, but I dunno. I watched it again, and it just looks like a star to me.

It does seem like it'd tie in well, what with all the white glowyness and people returning from the dead. I never really liked it in the original series, but it could be interesting given RDM's take on things.

Exactly. I enjoyed his take on the Pegasus, so I have no doubt this could work well, too, or at least much better than it did in the original show.

I just hope they don't have a Count Iblis or any of that hokey crap. If RM does the Ship of Lights thing, I hope he makes it as original as possible.

Oh, I dunno. Patrick MacNee is still alive and kicking. :D And an Iblis character might make a good Cylon God, no?

NO!! I hope they don't come up with an imperious leader either.. or were they the same thing? I should watch TOS sometime.

I finally got battlestarwiki to work (it was my computer's fault of course) .. not much info on the Ship of Lights or Beings of Light. I guess they weren't a big part of TOS http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Beings_of_Light

I don't think we have to worry too much about Imperious Leader...that concept was left on the scrap heap when they decided the Cylons were created by man and not an alien race.

The Ship of Lights and Seraphs were a pretty minor part of TOS. Iblis was a "fallen angel" (aka TEH DEVIL LOL) who may or may not have been a fallen Lord of Kobol. He preyed upon various alien cultures, enticing them to follow him and give him their obedience in exchange for power. As it turned out, he was the one responsible for subverting the original Cylon race, causing their machine inventions to kill the original reptilian Cylons and take over. Iblis also transcribed his voice and personality into the Imperious Leader. All of this eventually led to the conflict with humans and the thousand yahren war which eventually led to the destruction of the colonies.

That's the short version, but there are some parallels between the two shows so far.

People have been talking about the Imperious Leader ever since the show started and I've always thought that would be too silly. I'm glad TNS is different enough from TOS that we don't have to worry about that! The Ship of Lights and Beings of Light are kinda cool though and hopefully if RM goes there he can work it in and make it cool.

Another ongoing argument is about which is the real home planet of humans, Kobol or Earth. I keep changing my mind about that, lol... I was at first all for the home planet being Kobol, and the ancient scrolls being correct.. which could still be true, but I also think Earth being the home planet would be kinda cool. What do you guys think? Earth or Kobol?

OH I just found out that this years Golden Toaster Awards are going to be at Galactica BS. Don't know when the voting is going to start, but I do know that some of the categories aren't going to be the same.

I like shows where it turns out Earth isn't the original home of man, it's a great "what if?" concept. I think it'd be more meaningful for Earth to be the home of man since it's the one they've been searching for all this time, and it seems to be how the story is leading anyway.

I'd love to see Patrick McNee in BSG, he's an absolute legend. But Count Iblis we can do without. ;)

Although having Cylons that are more important than Centurions but less so than the skinjobs would make sense.
