Let's not talk about the tooth itself. I have state health insurance -- that none of the dentists anywhere near me will take. That leaves the local hospital, which I'm told by someone who's dealing with the same thing won't perform extractions.
So far, the only substantial help I've gotten with this has been from that person, who gave me antibiotics and Vicodin. But now the question is:
Once the antibiotics stop the infection -- and odds are that they will since I've had other abscesses before and couldn't do even antibiotics for those, so there's no tolerance against the meds -- what's safe to eat? I haven't eaten a damn thing in a couple days now, and I'm really starting to feel it.
So what is there that won't get into that tooth and make the problem worse while I'm trying to make it better? I'm still in enough pain that anything chewy sounds like a bad idea. Soup? Beef stew? Whaddya say?
