On the strength of those recommendations I will get Role Models, which had kind of slipped under my radar. You are right that comedy is very difficult these days, mainly because so few know how to do it well. I thought Hangover did a fantastic job of just sticking to the funny, and never really went for the obvious jokes. Lot of classic moments, and I almost pissed myself laughing when that kid got up to take revenge for the phone kick...

The Hangover wasn't so much a laugh riot where I had tears in my eyes the whole way through but it built up enough good funny moments and ridiculous situations through its simple plot that when it hit you with the end credits of the polaroids of what actually went down on the night they forgot that you couldn't help just laugh at every one which made the end of the movie one of the most satisfying I can remember.

It's just fucking great movie.
