Largely because of Hatton's style. He's all sinew & elbows. He's far from classical, so many referees have done similar things to him down the year,

The same ref officiated in Hatton's last fight, and his camp gave the ref clearance owing to his fair directions in that bout.

Hatton just got his tactics wrong, and got undone by a fighter who has moved seamlessly through 5 weight divisions. More experience. Shame - I thought Hatton would go in with a better idea, really.

I'd love to be all, "Screw you man, American athletes rule!" But sadly you are quite correct about black American athletes only it doesn't stop there, white athletes are not one bit better.
