I just remembered her mentioning that when I went to BB actually. I think the annoying warm up bloke asked if it was her real mum and when she said her mum was dead everyone thought the guy was a cock (more so). It also destroyed the illusion that Davina was friends with the guy.
As for bias towards Rex, I read on DS that his dad had paid for people to phone in thousands of votes and also that he was friends with the procuders. Not surprising, really. People have always said that the producers favour any housemates who are signed up to John Noel, because Davina, Dermot and Russell are.
