Why are the BBC allowed to show golf for 18 hours a day?

LEGALLY they should be required to at least show it on a SPLIT SCREEN with something interesting down the other side (Rik Mayall cooking bacon.)

But if they didn't show it live we would miss the excitement of someone spending ages to whack a ball hundreds of feet, then slowly walk towards it so they can hit it again.

If they just showed the highlights it would just be a bunch of oddly dressed men whacking off, and who wants to see that?
