Why did they ruined the Pirates of the Caribbean movies with so much plot?

Seriously, the special effects are great, the action was all well staged, the acting was generally very good (except Orlando Bloom who sucks) but all the fucking "Jack must betray Will to touch the last coin but really it's the fourth last coin because the other three were eaten by a monkey who is working for Geoffrey Rush wait didn't he die in the first movie ah yes but he was brought back to life by the black woman who's really a God he just creates a whirpool which doesn't really do much anyway so why can't she bring back the other charaters who died UHH SHE JUST CAN'T and anyway Keira just betrayed Orlando to touch Jack's magic eye-patch but she was only PRETENDING to betray him and she had gloves on when she touched it, ARR!" stuff just dragged on and on and killed the movies for a while.

I've only seen the first movie, and I thought it was good, but I didn't feel the need to see the second one.. OR maybe I did see the second one and I just can't remember. ANYWAY I didn't think they were so great like some people who use Captain jack as their avatar and talk like pirates ALL THE TIME.
