Yeah, it's a kind of bittersweet taste of what could have been.
Chris Hemsworth is a much more charismatic and capable actor than Chirs Pine, IMO, and would've been perfect as a more mature Kirk. And the look and feel of everything on the Kelvin is fantastic. Way better than the ugly on the outside, over lit on the inside Enterprise.

Hemsworth would have been an excellent Kirk, but couldn't pull off the smartass young Kirk that Abrams was shooting for in his abortion of a script.
Despite it all, I sorta liked the first one. Now, the second one... I threw up in my mouth a little while watching it.
