Wordforge is not going to be "fixed"

A gem from the Other Unrelated bans thread

http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=1288561&postcount=99

Honestly though, can we please just let this die, mistakes were made on all sides, and the only thing we do by drawing it out is hurting the board.

Let the drama end.

I'm amazed that anyone at the board who knows about just a fraction of went down back during the deposition of Borgs would buy any of the "Let's all get along and end the drama for the good of the board" bullshit that Elwood and Ballsack are shoveling. How in the world can two of the ringleaders from WF's 05 drama squad believably type this shit?

Because they board is theirs now, and they don't need the drama to secure it?

As I keep saying, it's all about behavior. I really have given up hope that any change will happen, judging by the way I was treated this evening. As long as that "pack of rabid dogs" mentality is allowed, the board remains unhealthy.

It *will* eventually tear itself apart. That saddens me.

While I think you do have a point, going around with the countdowns and the warnings probably wasn't the best way to show anyone you've changed. The best thing to do with stuff like that is to ignore them and let them do all the foaming at the mouth. And then laugh here about it.

IMHO.

:)

You know, I find it extremely telling...

There were four warnings handed out in that thread to Wordforgers for unprovoked flames, with others deserving of warnings but "overlooked".

The TKer in the bunch (me) had enough self control to walk away with...how many warnings? Zero.

It certainly says a lot about the caliber of poster at both boards, doesn't it?

I pointed out in that thread before reading this one, that on any sane board, a banned member allowed to return we be permabanned after thumbing his nose at the rules the day he returns.

That right there shows me the favoritism more than anything ever could. Getting a clean slate after being banned for cause....ummm no.

What's the world coming to when a TKer respects Wordforge rules better than Wordforgers respect Wordforge rules?

Not to mention thumbing his nose TWICE.

Of course it shows favoritism.

And that is why advocating for change at WF is just spinning your wheels.

I'm done.

I'll just sit on the sidelines, like I had been...and laugh like hell at them.

More entertaining for me, in the long run. :D

Interesting point and, dare I say it, things were probably better during Borgs' time, despite his tendency to sulk.

Unlike a couple of years ago, others see the blatant cronyism and favoritism at Wordforge.

No amount of flaming, no amount of circling the wagons, is going to detract from the fact the staff's (and staff's second in cummand, even without the official title) words are no longer golden too some. Longtime members are beginning to see thru the deceit, favoritism, and all around bullshit that used to resemble a decent board.

It seems I'm having the last laugh after all.

I'm still holding out on faith that things will get better, and that the board will heal as a community again. Call me an optimist or call me an asshole, but I believe the board will survive.

You're not an asshole. You are, however, a foolish optimist.

If the behavior towards me last night was any indication, it will continue to be business as usual. It was an EliteForge circling of the wagons, simply because I was challenging Elwood. That was my only transgression, yet it escalated into a flamefest.

A flamefest that backfired embarrassingly for every participant but me, to be sure, but an unprovoked flamefest nonetheless.

As long as behaviors like that are allowed to continue, Wordforge's days are numbered. Eliteforge will simply run out of people to target, until they are the only ones left.

Well, I'll continue holding out faith. However, that doesn't mean I can't come over here to TK and enjoy it. I do have to say the most positive aspect of all of this, is getting the chance to really experience TK as a community. I liked it.

We can't call you both?

Optimistic asshole.

:bigass:

;)

Wouldn't an optimistic asshole be something like, "we're going to get through this hurricane in one piece, just listen to me, unlike your grandmother who was a drunken, Irish whore!"

(I'm Irish, so yeah, I can do that).

This whole thing has become much too convoluted for my puny little brain to comprehend. However, I still think that whenever a small clique of posters is tasked with the chore of handing out warnings and enforcing "rules" on a message board there will always eventually be problems. The problems grow worse over time as the clique never changes and an "us vs. them" mentality invariably erupts. On a relatively small board like Wordforge with a core group of members that have been around each other forever (and not much new blood coming in), those problems are only magnified.

You'll notice we don't really have that kind of trouble here. Oh, sure, we'll occasionally get a true idiot or an invasion of true idiots or something, but since everyone here has a fairly thick skin they usually disappear fairly quickly. Except for Jillian, but she's kind of like our pet or mascot.

Now, what's been happening over at WF would be difficult or nearly impossible to fix at this point, and I wish you luck with it. In the meantime enjoy your stay.
