I think that spot literally ended Savage's career. I mean he wrestled a few more years, so not literally, but he had a bad leg until he took time off in 1998 and when he came back he was so roided that he couldn't do anything. Then his heart exploded.
But at least the match is remembered as a timeless classic!
How the fuck that shambles of a cage stayed together was another thing. I don't think I've ever seen a more shoddy cage in a wrestling match, including the indies.
