I bought my Dad two books (one by Stephen Fry and the other by Jeremy Clarkson) and I want to keep them for myself.

I got my dad the Uplift trilogy.. I think that's what it's called, by David Brin. Maybe it wasn't a trilogy and MAYBE it wasn't called Uplift. IT WAS SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
