DS9 handled relligion and mysticism very well, as fantasy devices and as social/political issues. Not to mention as damn good storytelling.Mysticism in trek is a hard subject to deal with. On one hand you have Picard's rant in "Who Watches the Watchers?" against masquerading as a god. On the other hand, you have Sisko actually being and acting like a demigod. It's true that Trek has always been pro-scientific method, but it has always allowed for spirituality and mysticism, too.
