Quite surprised I haven't heard more chatter about this one around here. Excellent film. If you have even a semblance of a sense of humour you will love this. It does everything right from start to finish. Acting, directing, script. It's all there. I have a feeling I'll be watching this film a good few times more in the near future.

Watch it!

9/10!

A friend of mine described it like this, "five minutes of zombie fights and another 80 minutes of teen drama. It's akin to making a movie named Awesome Killing Death Spectacular and then only showing 5 straight minutes of explosions bracketed by Degrassi-esque bullshit."

It's like this.

Also, if you haven't seen this standup routine, DO IT NOW!

I thought it was great. Friend and I saw it at the drive-in.

It was a fantastic movie, your friend didn't do it justice. Harrelson steals the movie but everyone was great in it, and I gotta confess the scene about his puppy and the duct tape wallet made me tear up a little. Surprised me...

^And then there's the "surprise" guest.

Yeah, but he dies.

But it's still a great bit.

Even better is Harrelsons reaction when Eisenberg sprays perfume on him. I almost choked from laughing so hard. "I'm gonna give you...45%."

I liked it, but I agree that there shoulda been more zombie-killin'. The opening credits, with the slo-mo zombie attacks set to Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was awesome. Harrelson was great, and I really liked both Emily Blunt and Abigail Breslin. Jury's still out on Eisenberg, however, as he seemed too much like Michael Cera.

The surprise guest was amazing...the throwaway line about being able to walk on to Riveria and play 18 cracked me up. Even his demise was funny as shit.

Good movie, just coulda used a little more zombie killin' in the middle.

I haven't seen it and even I know Emily Blunt isn't in it.

^^Bahahah...of course you're right, it's Emma Stone. But you know what, I can actually picture Emily Blunt in the movie when I think about it. It's not like they even look that much alike. I guess the movie was fairly lightweight in that respect.

Okay, I watched this today. It was pretty good. Laughed a few times (or smiled, I don't really laugh out loud much.) But I have to complain because it is a compulsive need: they didn't handle the actual zombie stuff very well. I mean, compare it to Shaun of the Dead (and WHY NOT they're both zombie comedies) which did a far better job of actuallly making a great comedy AND a great zombie movie. Whereas this was just a good comedy. Like they were driving around for hours and everything was TOTALLY EMPTY then they'd open a door and suddenly twenty zombie would show up. And the end scene, while fun, should have had at least one of the charactesr dying. For realism! Also Emma Stone is pretty hot but I didn't like her eye make-up. And the piano bit seemed randomly inserted in the movie just so they could put it in all the trailers.

BUT HEY, it was still enjoyable! Woody was good.

Another movie i've been meaning to download.

Part of what you noticed about certain parts being a little out of place is because the original Zombieland was supposed to be a TV series and was actually picked up by CBS before it fell apart. They redid the concept as a movie, but the Zombie Kill of the Week (and all the rules we didn't get to see) were gonna be regular parts of the series and they got left in the movie concept by the writers. It felt like a tv pilot to me when I watched it, but I only found out later that was the point. The link above tells there is definitely a sequel coming, and the writers want to make it for tv still, but with Kirkman's Walking Dead coming to TV that may not happen.

Uh oh, I just realized Jenna may throw me out of the Not For Zombies club for knowing all this shit...I can't help it, zombies rule.

I've already downloaded it but it's stuck the non functional main comp. I'll either need to redownload it or get an enclosure for my HDD. I'll prolly torrent it again tonight and watch it then.

Please keep me updated on where the file is Yub. If you let me know your twitter feed I can keep up to date in real time.

I've lost some other files too...ooo the excitement. This is what I get for posting while decaffeinated.

I think Walking Dead would work better as an ongoing series than a comedy zombie series would.
