Ron Rivera: Would only deal No. 2 pick if a 'high impact' player is available with return in trade

The Washington Redskins might need a lot in order to rebuild their roster. That doesn't mean they'll be aggressive in seeking a trade out of the No. 2 spot in the NFL draft later this month. Redskins coach Ron Rivera said they need an impact player, whether they draft someone with the second pick or trade back.

NFL will have 58 prospects participating remotely in draft

Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow and Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young are among 58 prospects who will participate virtually in the NFL draft.Burrow is one of eight LSU players who will take part in the April 23-25 draft, one more than Alabama. Normally, top prospects would be invited to the draft itself, but this year's festivities in Las Vegas were scuttled by the coronavirus outbreak and the draft will instead be conducted in a studio, with the league's 32 teams participating remotely from their hometowns. Despite the logistical challenges of operating a 255-pick draft remotely, teams will still have just 10 minutes between picks in the first round, seven for Rounds 2 and 3 and five for Rounds 4-7. The Cincinnati Bengals own the first overall pick

Chase Young says he's 'definitely' the best prospect available in NFL draft

As the NFL draft approaches and experts debate the best overall prospect, there is still no doubt in Chase Young Chase Young's mind as to who is at the top. On Instagram, ESPN's Maria Taylor asked Young if he thought he was the best player in the draft and his answer was concise and confident."Yes, definitely," Young said, doubling down on a similar claim he made back in February about being the NFL draft's most dominant defender. "I know I'm the best, definitely." The defensive end from Ohio State wreaked havoc on opposing offenses last season, accumulating 16.5 sacks, 58 quarterback pressures and 46 total tackles despite missing two games to suspension.

Several teams doing serious research on QB Jordan Love
Love performed well in 2018 for the Aggies, recording 3,567 passing yards for 32 touchdowns and six interceptions. But his 2019 performance is a reason for pause. His completion percentage dipped from 64% to 61.9%, and his stat line of 17 interceptions to 20 touchdowns is a concern.

Sources: Draft prospect Zack Baun tests positive for diluted sample
Baun, who had 53 solo tackles and 12 1/2 sacks in 2019, weighed 238 pounds at the combine after weighing 242 at the senior bowl. Under the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement, it will not count as a strike against him whereas it would have under the NFL's old CBA. Teams don't believe it will impact Baun's status and Kiper projects him as a late first-round pick.

Source: OL prospect Mekhi Becton has talked to NFL teams about failed test

Former Louisville offensive tackle and top NFL draft prospect Mekhl Becton is aware of a flagged drug test from the combine and has addressed it with multiple clubs, while still awaiting official notification, a source said. The 6-foot-7, 364-pound Becton is seventh on Mei Kiper Jr.'s Big Board after running the 40-yard dash in 5.10 seconds at the combine. It's being stressed that Becton didn't have a history of failed tests in college and does not have a substance abuse problem, the source said. Teams had been checking in Saturday morning and Becton still has several virtual calls lined up beyond Saturday, according to the source.
