[Shitty Dual]

Yeah, I could have done without the CGI prairie dogs, or monkeys for that matter. Is it that fucking hard to use the real things?

I think this is more a tribute to Indy films than an actual Indy film, if that makes sense.

There seemed to be a tip of the hat to the old films every ten minutes. I went along for the ride and didn't really have a problem with it. You also have to consider that it's been 19 years --Cacophony was a newborn-- since the Last Crusade came out. Maybe you need all that genuflecting to get everyone back in the mindframe, especially since it's now set in a considerably different era.

Going to see Indy 4 tomorrow. Looking forward to it. You can never go wrong with Harrison Ford.

As for really good horror movies, I suggest "The Uninvited". Released in 1944, and starring Ray Milland, it is a real horror movie...no blood, no guts, just real sit on the edge of your seat suspense:

I guess it's all relative. I have a lady hard-on for Harrison, so I tend not to notice the subpar writing and acting going on around him.

I'm passing on Indy, but Iron Man completely rocked, especially Jeff Bridges as the paranoid magna cum supervillian. Plus the great ending after the credits.

Just came back from seeing the film.

LOVED IT! It was sooooo nice to see Indy back in action. I liked the way they matured his views on life, and tempered his spirit. It acknowledged the passing of the years.

However, they didn't temper his spirit *too* much. He's still the whip snapping, wise ass adventurer he always was, but with a little wisdom and age-old weariness thrown in. In other words, he's grown as a character. Having him remain the same as he was 19 years ago wouldn't have been realistic.

I highly recommend this movie to everyone!

Love this movie!!! TMC shows it every Halloween, and it still gives me the creeps.

I second that, loved it. It's a fun romp, don't expect a mind shattering brain stomper of a flick. especially liked the nod to the ark in the warehouse scene...

Yeah its open for more films, the end is a real hoot, and a kick up the arse for everyone who said they would be passing the baton to Shia for the next one.

I remember reading a script review that said the movie ended like Last Crusade with Indy riding off, except with Marian this time, and when his hat dropped she told him to leave it and then Shia picked it up...so Indy taking it from him in the actual movie was satisfying. Surprised they didn't have horses waiting for them outside the church though.
