I have no idea, jack. I am female, so unless you let me watch while Lent sucks you, I would lack the equipment to gain further knowledge.
 
But judging from what people seem to give up for her, my guess is yes.

Well I'll join you in Hell because I haven't been to Church in like 2 years and apparently thats a "mortal sin". And apparently, even after I return to Church I have to go to "confession" before I can recieve "communion".

Mine doesn't observe Lent, so I've never even worried about it. I always thought it was kind of a strange thing anyway. There isn't really any scriptural basis for the practice. Oh well.
 
IMO it's a cheap lifting of the Day Of Atonement rituals the jews practice just after their New Year.
 
We don't have anything like Lent, the concept intrigues me...we basically live Lent every day...my religious beliefs requires a lot....
