I'll pass. I'm not going from one coast to another to be a Mexican live-in maid. I'm desperate for work but not that desperate. It would be a tiny bedroom too I'm guesing and I'd have to lose most of my possessions too.
(Throw in Ily, Mirah and cable/internet priviledges and I might reconsider)

Oh please. First of all, isn't being a Mexican living in the US that big thing these days? Why else would so many Mexicans take it upon them to travel north and stay in a place they're not welcome?
Second: I seriously would have thought a job enabling you to stay in drag all day would appeal to you! And knowing Dual, it'd be one of those kinky, black, mini-skirt kinds of uniform, too!
Pfft, as if Dual would have a house with small bedrooms. Besides, what if? Nobody would demand you to stay at home all night. It's Cali! You can, like, go out and have fun over there (or so I've heard)!
As for your possessions - be honest: do you actually have anything worth staying at your parents' house for?
We're still in negotiations.

All good points. I'm sure my parents would let me store whatever possessions I couldn't bring at their house until they moved to a senior apartment. I'd prefer to have you, and Mirah there but I could possibly do it if cable and internet and moving costs were thrown in. I is broke.

Need money for gas, hotels(not making the trip in one day/sleeping in my car) and U-Haul to hail my possessions across country.
It would be adventurous but is the job market any better out in California? I wouldn't want to be Dual's housekeeper permanently.

I'd love to take the risk. I'm just being realistic. And I'm not really young but not really old yet either. I'm 37.
1. I could do without most of my possessions, I would need to bring a few.(Clothes, drawers for my clothes, footlocker, TV and electronics,etc)
2. Gas and Hotel money. Making the coast to coast trip in a day is not an option.
3. $100 a week would not cover my car payments and insurance. Giving up my car is not an option.

1. I am using my car now. Just because I don't post every little non-internet related activity doesn't mean they don't exist. In the past few months alone I have been to free movies, concerts, and a rodeo. Plus I do the shopping(along with my brother) using guess what....my car. Also my brother has a car of his own, why would I need to sell him mine?
2. I would be your housekeeper, not your personal slave(unless you plan on paying me $1000/week), what I do with my free time is my business. Most of my free time nowadays is used enjoying the TV, videogames and internet(like a majority of the TK'ers). I don't expect that to change with the change in location.
I'd really like to take you up on this offer, but it seems to offer lots of sacrifice and very little reward. So unless you are open to further negotiation, and sweetening the pot, plus I need money to get out there and I am unwillingly to part with 90% or more of my posssessions, I guess I'll have to pass(until I'm truly homeless and/or hit rock bottom).
