Is this real life?
"You ain't gettin' by me!" shouts a roid ragey man as he chases a passenger jet down a runway in a 4x4. Turns out he's wrong.
Thus sets the tone for The Event. A bit cheesy, a bit "why the fuck is this happening anyway?", but still somehow watchable. We should probably have a thread about it.
I found all the "X months previously" titles kind of confusing. They sprang up so frequently and at the same time as introducing a myriad of characters that it wasn't until the last ten minutes or so that I got a good idea of the timeline.
Cast isn't bad. I hope Tony Todd gets lots to do. President Obamartinez is the bloke from Seven Days who used to help save the president from having planes crash on him every week. He's rising up the ranks of disaster genre casting. Botox woman looks really familiar, but her immalleable cheeks distract me from all the dialogue in her scenes. Main guy... I forget his name... he's ok. Looks a bit like Sam Trammell crossed with that SeaQuest guy who killed himself crossed with a white picket fence attached to some gums.
The ones who saved the president... Asgard? Tune in next week to not find out!
