The Event

Apparently the backwards E in the title is a clue of some kind.

WELL, I just read on wikipedia that the backwards e is the symbol for "there exists..." something about predicate logic, WHATEVER THAT MEANS. So, if that is what the backwards e stands for, maybe it means there exists ALIENS, or time travelers or SOMETHIGN.

Oh OK, just read this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Existential_quantification

Maybe Laura Linney's character is being inhabited by Sam Beckett??

Oh BOY.

And the first 5 episodes aren't even that good!
Actually, Emissary, Past Prologue, and Captive Pursuit are good (according to JAMMER LOL).

I didn't end up following Heroes, V, or FlashForward, so I don't see how I'm going to be following The Event either.

The one that introduced Garak was good.

I really enjoyed the latest ep. It's starting to get interesting now. ALSO, they didn't jump around in time quite as much, I'm hoping that was just to get things set up and STUFF (I think I said that already, but i'm not going to go back and look :rwmad: )

Eh, it needs to move forward a bit, and stop being so predictable.

I think it will start picking up the pace now that they've got most of the back story out of the way.

I think its trying too hard to be the new lost.

The series it reminds me the most of once you get past all the "where the new lost!" bits, is dark skies, with a bit of the fugitive, and a sprinkle of the invaders.

the adverts didn't grab me.

EPISODE 3

Was pretty darn good. I mean, it's not exactly edge of the seat stuff, but the characters actually have believable motives and reactions, and it all holds together pretty well considering it's about aliens, a disappearing plane and a black president (that last thing seems particularly preposterous). The woman with the imalleable cheeks still annoys me (they should've hired lots more actors who'd overbotoxed so it'd be the aliens' thing. "MOVE YOUR CHEEKS OR WE'LL SHOOT!!"), but I like the FBI agent. She should stay in it for a while. The bad girl seems kinda hot now she's a bad girl.

Is anyone else still watching this TERRIBLE SHOW? I was defending it all along, then a couple episodes ago the show kind got ridiculous. Why do they need to have the evil old man trying to find a way to stay young? WHY do they have this stupid thing where a shot makes a person age dramatically fast, like in Star Trek?

Oh, and the event? It was Tomas launching a satellite to send a message back to their home planet.

I'm a sucker for crap shows, so I am still watching it, despite most episodes being a mehfest.

They show it here on Friday nights, when I'm usually out, and then the repeat is the following Thursday when I've forgotten all about it, so I've missed the last 3 episodes at least.

Has the woman who can't move her cheeks regained the power of cheek movement yet?

She was on ER for years and never could move her cheeks. I don't think it's botox, I think it's NATURAL. lol She's a good actress, but they're not using her very well on this show.
