THE CAPE

I thought it was entertaining, and Summer was HOT. It's really cheesy, but I find most comic book stuff cheesy.

SPOILERS, MOFO!!! Nah, I don't care, I'm not a stickler for that shit. I'll watch it tonight. Don't wanna read all your posts, can you give it a letter grade?

"Rushed" is a very apt way to describe this show -- they barrel through the plots as if they already know they're going to be canceled quickly.

But I thought it was okay for what it is. Like most shows, it needs a full season to develop the characters and to decide which storytelling devices it will keep and discard. Unfortunately there's no way it will get that, it is probably DOOOOOOOOOMED.

I thought it was pretty alright.

The first episode was REALLY rushed. Like it should've been a double-length episode on it's own. He goes from meeting Summer Glau's Oracle Orwell and in the next scene she asks him to team up with her for realises even though they've only just met.

I like Keith David. He's cool.

But anyway, I like the general premise enough. A large company is privatising the police (like in RoboCop!), a good cop is thought dead by his family (like in RoboCop!) and instead fights crime in a new, more-than-human way (like in RoboCop!).

The second episode was better. It could work as a weekly thing, I guess.

Summer Glau is pretty pretty.

BEAR'S MUSIC WAS GREAT.

Guess I didn't miss much, huh.

Watched all but the last 20 minutes (LG is not a genre TV fan, and I had been monopolizing the TV for almost 2 hours). I got up to the part where Oracl-er, Orwell got in the elevator with Richard Schiff.

I liked it! I thought it hewed very close to the comic-book mythos. The part where he starts taking poisons to build up his immunity was sort of Batman-esqe. I really liked the Carnival of Crime as well. Keith David is one of my favorite actors, it's nice to see him in a meaty role.

The show has potential, of course I'll be a faithful watcher.

Did the Carnival Of Crime just give up crime to help The Cape during some rushed plot point or are they still crinimals (and, if so, surely The Cape should be like stopping them.)

I think they got enough money for awhile, they're lying low. I don't think Faraday had a problem with them stealing from ARK banks.

Only problem I had so far was that the moves by "Chess" didn't seem all that brilliant. I think he and "Scales" were cool concepts, but not completely executed.

Finally saw the rest of the second episode. It was good, I liked it. Although the last shot, of The Cape on top of the building, was too much of a Batman rip-off. I'll be watching!

What was he donig on that building anyway?

Peeing on Chess' convertible? And how the fuck did he get up there? It's not like you can walk into an office building wearing a costume and they let you up on the roof.

Well he can teleport by swooshing his cape around, so...

Nah, he can't teleport, that's just a ninja carnival disappearing trick.

Land surveyors aren't evil. They're just doing their job! It's the Land Developers that are evil.

Unless a surveyor has a hidden explosive in his transit!

oh, you mean a fat mexican guy.

So the third episode was...okay, I suppose. Summer looked nice and did the splits at the end for some reason. So that's something!
