Just because he says he's the father doesn't mean he is the father, unless they do a flashback scene to when he impregnates Jon's mother or something, which they didn't.

Why would he lie? What's his motivation? The bastard can't even use the Stark name. It would be easier to deny that the kid is his.

The show has enough drama and plot twists without creating ones out of nothing.

Of course it would be easier, it would have been easier to leave him with his mother for that matter, but he didn't. You haven't seen enough to know there's something else going on, BUT YOU WILL.
