Star Wars Nooooooooo 2, the sequel

I personally feel that Lucas should be able to make any changes he likes to the films. He holds the rights to them, fine, they're his. Let him do what he will.

But let us choose. Let us choose which version we want to watch - and make them all of equal quality (in terms of video and sound quality).

Take Ridley Scott. Almost as famous as Lucas for going back and changing his films to fix what he considered mistakes. But when he says "Hey guys so I've just changed Blade Runner again!" he then says "BUT here are all five different versions, all restored, all in HD, so you can pick exactly which one you want to watch and ignore my version if you like."

Unlike Lucas who just sticks his fingers in his ears and screams "THERE'S ONLY ONE TRUE VERSION LA LA LA LA LA".

I agree. I would like to have the UNaltered SW trilogy available to me for nostalgia sake. Lucas did release the unaltered versions several years ago, but they look terrible, nothing was done to restore them. I'm sure eventually Lucas will get around to doing this, especially when he realizes fans will buy them and therefore make him even richer! :)

I think somebody should pay Dave Prowse and James Earl Jones a shitload of money each to go drag Lucas out of his house one early morning, then knock him down so Prowse can sit on his chest smacking him in the face with the Darth Vader helmet while Jones yells, "Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooo" in his ear.

It's the only way he'll learn.

DVDActive have updated their list of Star Wars changes with the Blu-Ray changes.

The long and short of it is - mostly the stuff we knew about, stupid Obi-Wan call, stupid 'Nooooo', blinking Ewoks, Dug in Jabba's Palace for no reason, CGI rocks for R2 to hide behind, CGI Yoda in TPM and a few other tweaks.

What is annoying is that, apart from a few shots which they fixed, most of the terrible colour problems from the DVDs are still there. Luke still has a green saber in some shots of ANH, Vader's saber is still pink a whole lot of the time, and the X-Wing engines are still pink. The fact that they didn't even bother to fix those mistakes before adding in needless CGI is the worst part of the entire thing.

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Prequels

I can see why people like the silent Vader, but I must admit I always found it a bit comical. It was a bit like watching a mime or Mr Bean, so I would've welcomed some sound... but not the "nooooooooo!" Just some slightly growly "hmm this is a hard decision" type sounds (not dialogue), which could work well if care was taken.
