Several episodes were wobbly first drafts of better episodes that would come later, like "Coming of Age" would later be done better in "The Drumhead".

Fandom was ready for a gay character way before Roddenberry or Paramount were. It was all their own hang-ups.

All I could find was a line in Wikipedia -- "Since his departure, Berman has indicated he is still involved in television production, as well as projects "not connected to the television business". He has also stated an interest in writing a memoir of his experiences at Star Trek."
