I havent finished either but I did like SC a lot better. I feel like The Acolyte has the big issue of trying to be different but still is beholden to what comes before since it takes place at the tail end of the High Republic era right in line with the fact Darth Plagueis and Sidious were already lurking in the shadows. They needed to set it much further back during the Old Republic timeline.

The Acolyte's just really dull and ends with the main character turning evil and I think we're supposed to be happy for her, for some reason? It's weird.

It needed a 2nd season with different writers and a refund to anybody who payed for disney+ to watch it.

(I didn't hate it).

I binge watched the first 5 episodes while dog sitting for a friend who had Disney+. Even after all those episodes I didn’t really get what was going on or feel like the show had “started”. Versus SC where I couldn’t wait for more after episode one.

What bothered me the most was that they squandered the opportunity to do something really good with that era of Star Wars.

Ironically, I think Obi Wan got a LOT of undue hate on it. I actually loved it, and even enjoyed Reva, which apparently everyone fucking hates. It made perfect sense to me knowing what we know about the Inquisitors, that not only would one of them be a youngling, but that she would harbor a deep hatred of Obi Wan AND Vader too and would be biding her time waiting to strike out after watching all her friends murdered by Vader, and seeing neither Obi Wan or really any other Jedi still alive rescue her.

I also like how they kinda slid in elements from the Legends comics around Owen and Buru, and hell I even like kid Leia. She really sold being the same girl that would grow up into the Leia we see in Rebels and later ANH.

So what was your issue with it? If anything I think it could have worked better as a 2 hour movie or 3-4 episode mini instead of 6 but outside of that I had no issues with the characters.

I've been rewatching season 1 and I love this:
