The Magnificent Ferengi (DS9) - To call Ferengi comedy episodes "hit or miss" is being overly generous, as it's more like "not completely awful or miss or rarely hit." 'The House of Quark' is a good one (though I'd argue it's a Quark centric episode rather than a Ferengi comedy episode!) but some of the others are dire. Somehow, 'The Magnificent Ferengi' manages to be one of the funniest episodes of all of Trek! It's the combination of having a gang of Ferengi team-up to rescue Moogie from the Dominion (why did they kidnap Moogie? Who cares!) and the lead Vorta being played by bizarrely by Iggy Pop. Or maybe with previous Ferengi episodes being slated, writers Ira Steven Behr and Hans Beimler tried extra hard to make this one funny. Whatever the reason, it's a delightful time!
EDIT: Oops I see Eggs posted about it on the first page, but that was seven years ago!
