2008 Elections: State Breakdown

Both the NY Times map and 270toWin's map are currently calling CO and VA tossup states. The Times map is actually more conservative and calling MO, IN and NC as leaning McCain instead of tossups.

But who knows, this thing'll change daily. Plus, we'll all be dead by 2012 anyway...

Yes, they are calling those toss-up states. I disagree.

Yes, this election has the potential to change daily. I do indeed agree wholeheartedly!

Is anyone forecasting McCain winning without Obama dying or screwing up something important?

What's funny about saying a state historically voted for a particular party or another is that 270towin.com shows how each state voted in each presidential election. For example, Oregon voted for a Republican candidate 26 times and for a Democrat 12 times since Statehood, yet Oregon's reputation is that Oregon votes Democrat.

Or even better: Alabama.

Since Statehood, it voted Democratic-Republican twice; Democrat 30 times; disqualified once (Civil War secession); Republican 11 times (and mostly since Eisenhower); States' Rights once; and American Independent once.

Republicans used to be the northern protectors of freedom and equality; Democrats used to be the southern reactionary bigots. Quite a change, eh? ;)

Obama has a 12 point lead in the current polls. The Ayers bullshit will backfire. Palin just lost her ethics investigation in her home state, despite the illegal end around of her campaign to try to distort the truth. The stock market has lost 3700 points in the last 7 days. If you had 100 grand in a stock funded 401k you currently possess about 33,000.

I love the racist screamers planted at the rallies for McCain lately...think that'll work? Not this time :D

My prediction is: 320 Electoral votes for Obama and 53 percent of the popular vote.

Then of course, the Neocons will scream ACORN and try to hold the election up in court, thus allowing Bush to stay in power ;)

From the way Bush looks every time he's on TV lately, I think he probably can't wait to get out of office.

"..it's almost finished for George W. Bush, and he's as happy to be leaving it as America is to see him go. It's an even wash. Except that Bush and his goons walk away stinking rich on war swag and a hundred other nightmare scams while everyone else is scared shitless for their future."

Yep, pretty much sums up this presidency. I bet he goes into seclusion. Deep seclusion.

Due to recent polls, I have changed the status of:

Colorado --from Leaning McCain to Toss-Up

Michigan --from Leaning Obama to Solid Obama

Minnesota --from Solid Obama to Leaning Obama

You either need to procreate or move to an evenly divided congressional district. Living in Seattle I know my vote doesn't count.
