Kansas becomes latest No. 1; Tar Heels fall out
It is Kansas turn at No. 1 in the Top 25 men's college basketball poll, while another blue blood North Carolina is out for the first time in nearly six years. It is the first time the AP poll has had five different No. 1s before New Year's Day. North Carolina (6-4) had been ranked for 106 consecutive weeks dating to February 2014, including starting this year in the top 10 and peaking at No. 5 on Nov. 18.

Late run helps No. 3 Louisville beat Miami of Ohio 70-46
Jordan Nwora scored 20 points. Ryan McMahon added 11 points for Louisville (11-1), and Dwayne Sutton tied a career high with 15 rebounds. Mekhi Lairy led the Redhawks (5-6) with 10 points. They lost for the fifth time in six games.

Clark, Huff help No. 9 Virginia survive Stony Brook, 56-44
Kihel Clark scored 14 points and Jay Huff had eight of his 12 during a second-half run for the Cavaliers (9-1). Elijah Olaniyi scored 11 to lead Stony Brook (7-6).



No. 2 Gonzaga leaves North Carolina blue after 94-81 victory
One of the most highly anticipated games ever inside Gonzaga's gym was a party most of the night for the home team. The Bulldogs (12-1) won their fourth straight since suffering their only loss of the season against Michigan in the final of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Women
No. 6 Louisville women outlast UT Martin 71-63 in 2OT
The Cardinals found a way to avoid an upset in their non coferene finale, wrapping up a string of seven straight road or neutral-site games at 6-1. Dana Evans scored 22 points and Kylee Shook and Diop each added 15 points for the Cardinals (11-1). Damiah Griffin led the Skyhawks (4-6) with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Cunane helps No. 9 N.C. State Wolfpack improve to 11-0
Elissa Cunane scored 17 points and Grace Hunter added 14 points for the Wolfpack (11-0) in their final nonconference game of the regular season. Bria Dial scored all 12 of her points in the first half for Chattanooga. The Mocs have lost 10 in a row.

Gonzaga becomes season's 6th team to hit No. 1 in AP Top 25
This is the eighth season to have as many as six different teams reach No. 1, though it has happened now three times in the past five years. The record for an entire season is seven, set in 1982-83 when names like Michael Jordan and Ralph Sampson were still in the college ranks.

No. 19 Kentucky outlasts rival No. 3 Louisville 78-70 in OT
Quickley had 18 points for Kentucky, which shot 46% for its 11th win over Louisville in 13 meetings. Richards had 13 points, including seven in a row in overtime, and Kentucky (9-3) scored the final eight points.The Wildcats ended a two-game losing streak in which Utah and Ohio State both shot 50% or better against them in Las Vegas Steven Enoch had 18 points and Dwayne Sutton 10 for the Cardinals (11-2).

Carey leads No. 4 Duke past Brown 75-50
Vernon Carey Jr. scored 19 points and Alex O'Connell added 14 points and Wendell Moore Jr. had 10 points for Duke (11-1) in its final nonconference game of the regular season. Brandon Anderson scored 16 points to lead Brown (5-6) in its third consecutive loss. The Bears trailed 35-29 at halftime.

Osborne, Koprivica lead Florida St. past North Alabama
Malik Osborne scored 12 of his season-high 14 points in the first half and Baisa Koprivica scored 13 points while Trent Forrest had 10 points and six assists for Florida State (11-2), which has won seven of its games by 10 or more points. Jamari Blackmon scored 15 points and Christian Agnew added 12 points and eight rebounds for North Alabama (5-8). The Lions shot 24 of 52 (46.2 % ) from the floor.

Jones scores 24 to lead No. 7 Louisville past Syracuse
Jazmine Jones free throws with 1:19 left gave the Cardinals (12-1) the lead for good as the teams traded the lead in the fourth quarter. The Orange (6-6) trailed by as many as 11 in the second half, but they took a 58-57 advantage with 2:37 left on Amaya Finklea-Guity's basket.

Woolfolk scores 21 as Florida St. secures best ever start
Florida State has become consistently good the past few decades under coach Sue Semrau. But no team in school history has opened 13-0 until this year. Nausia Woolfolk scored 21 points, making 8 of 12 shots from the floor, and Nicki Ekhomu and eight assists as Florida State cruised to an 86-62 victory over Virginia Tech on Sunday.

Crutchfield, No. 9 NC State roll over Boston College 72-54
Aslinn Konig helped N.C. State hand Boston College its first home loss of the season. The senior guard scored 11-points, including three 3-pointers in the second half, as No. 9 N.C. State topped Boston College, 72-54 on Sunday. With the win, NC State remains unbeaten (12-0), while handing the Eagles (7-6) its first home loss of the season.
