It's weird how the set-up looks like "Ahsoka restarts the Jedi Order" when we know Luke is also trying to restart the Jedi Order around this time and they've just announced a movie where Rey restarts the Jedi Order.
So I was at the Ahsoka panel at Celebration this morning and they showed an ~exclusive~ extended version of the trailer that had some stuff not in the one released yesterday:
A proper look at Lars Mikkelsen as Thrawn (he looked like a less evil Elon Musk???)
Shots of Sabine using Ezra's lightsabre to fight the female dark Jedi person (played by Ivanna Sakhno)
Sabine on a cool personalised speeder bike
Ahsoka and Sabine in their ship running into a purrgil
So when Ahsoka showed up at Sabine's door dressed as Gandalf at the end of Rebels, she tried to train Sabine as a Jedi? Is Sabine even force sensitive (I don't remember it ever being hinted) or did she just try to train her because she's cool?
Hmmm. I presume this will be accessible to those who haven't watched Rebels? I watched a bit and have a vague idea about it. I had no idea this was basically a live-action sequel to it (at least that's how it looks).
Only seen the first 20 minutes but seems very dull and slow paced, like a twenty minute show dragged out to twice is length by having people standing around forever before talking.
But if you like a character silently turning a rock for ten minutes this is the show for you.
They better have REGULAR scenes checking in with the cat so we know it's okay.
The droid actor they got to play Chopper was really good.
I liked it as someone who has watched Rebels but I wonder if it works on its own? Like I guess they explained Ezra well enough but they really didn't do much to explain why Thrawn is such a big deal, especially when The Mandalorion has already shown there's loads of ex-Imperials around (and some of them organised and working together.) And yeah some scenes felt a bit long, like when the bad guys were looking at the map in the second episode but the viewer already knows about the map so you probably don't need another "this is the map" scene.
Rosario was good as always and I hope they let Ahsoka be a bit more playful as it goes on as I'm sure she'd pull that off as well as the calm serene version. Sabine was really good.
