With a pair of undisputed title fights in the next six weeks, and the calendar beyond March starting to fill up quickly, boxing is roaring back into action after a short lull. A pair of fights in the U.K. kick off an exciting stretch, as Amir Khan and Kell Brook square of in a grudge match on Feb. 19, followed by Josh Taylor's first defense of his undisputed junior welterweight championship against Jack Catterall. Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano are set for their rematch for the undisputed junior middleweight championship on March 19 in Los Angeles. And some of the biggest names at heavyweight are lined up as well, with Tyson Fury set to fight Dillian Whyte while Oleksandr Usyk gives Anthony Joshua his mandatory rematch.

Gonzaga back at No. 1 in AP Top 25 men's basketball poll, Wyoming ranked for the first time since 2015

The Zags reclaimed the No. 1 ranking for a third stint this season, while Providence climbed into the top 10 and Wyoming earned its first ranking in more than seven years. Mark Few's Bulldogs earned 56 of 60 first-place votes in Monday's poll to swap positions with Auburn, which had spent the past three weeks at No. 1 but fell from the top spot after suffering its first loss since November. Gonzaga (21-2) was the preseason No. 1 after last year's run to the NCAA championship game, which became the team's only loss. The Zags spent three weeks at the top before falling out after a loss to Duke and also spent a week at No. 1 in mid-January before being supplanted by Auburn.

No. 6 Iowa earns highest AP women's basketball poll in 20 years, South Carolina still No. 1

Iowa State reached its best ranking in 20 years in the Associated Press women's basketball poll, while South Carolina remained the unanimous choice at No. 1. Iowa State (21-3) moved up three spots to sixth on Monday,its highest mark since the 2001-02 season and has a huge week ahead with games against No. 14 Texas and No. 15 Oklahoma. The Gamecocks received all 30 votes from a national media panel. Stanford, Louisville, NC State and Indiana round out the top 5

College Football Playoffs to remain at 4 teams until 12-year contract expires after 2025 season

After months of lengthy debates and multiple meetings about expansion, the College Football Playoff will remain at four teams through the end of its current 12-year contract, which expires following the 2025 season, CFP executive director Bill Hancock announced Friday. By choosing to remain at four teams for four more years, the 10 FBS conferences and Notre Dame have forfeited roughly $450 million in potential revenue.

No. 11 Providence clinches first Big East regular-season title with dominant win vs. Creighton

No. 11 Providence captured its first Big East regular-season championship Saturday night, riding A.J. Reeves seven 3-pointers and 23 points to a 72-51 victory over Creighton. Ryan Kalkbrenner paced the Bluejays (19-9, 11-6) with 13 points, and Alex O'Connell added 12 points. Creighton shot 23% in the second half.

Gonzaga Bulldogs among record 7 top-10 men's basketball teams to lose Saturday


For the first time in college basketball history, seven top-10 teams lost on the same day. On Saturday, No. 1 Gonzaga, No. 2 Arizona, No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 Purdue, No. 5 Kansas, No. 6 Kentucky and No. 9 Texas Tech all lost, surpassing the previous record of six top-10 teams in the Associated Press poll losing in one day. Saturday was also the first time the top six teams in the top-25 poll all lost on the same day, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. The last time six top-10 squads fell in one day was on Feb. 4, 2017. It had happened five times overall.
