Obviously Michael Phelps thing last night was crazy, I can't believe he actually won that, in the last 5 meters he still looked to be several feet behind.
Actually though, what I thought was most exciting last night was the American Men's beach volleyball team (1st in the world) almost getting eliminatec by the Swedes. This is what I gathered of it:
- you win 2 sets to take the match
- win or go home (both teams had lost a previous match and were in the loser's bracket)
The Americans trounced them in the first set, which was what was expected. But then in the second, the Swedes won decisively, by 7 points (out of 25). They started off the third set 6-0 Sweden, but the US came back to make it close after that. It came down to the last few serves, with Sweden serving with the game 23-24, chance to make their own destiny, but the US squeaked through.
I'm sure I made that sound super boring, but it was actually really great. I like watching an underdog (SWE) give a great fight, obviously it's best if they can win.
